1st International Conference on Marine Biodiversity

The conference will be held on 31 October - 1 November 2016 in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. This conference is organised by The Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center (IBRC) of Udayana University.

Marine biodiversity has become an important issue.  Marine and coastal life has significant impacts to human life as food and medicine source, recreation and tourism. On the other hand, marine and coastal environment has influenced by human activities.  The sustainability of marine and coastal biodiversities is in need of in-depth studies and its output can be used by both practitioners and policy makers.

To address various issues faced by marine and coastal environment as well as marine living organism, Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center (IBRC) of Udayana University, Bali, and USAID (USA) proudly presents the 1st International Conference on Marine Biology (CoMBI2016). The conference will gather leading scientists, academics, policy makers, practitioners, government officials and students who are related to the field of biology, marine biology, environmental studies to offer their contributions in addressing marine and coastal biodiversity issues.

The theme of the conference is “Advancing Scientific Tools and Capacity Building for Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity”.  The conference includes presentations covering marine biodiversity and its health as well as a variety of ecological topics.  Potential topics follow these areas (1) Biodiversity and ecosystem function, (2) Evolution and Systematics, (3) Mapping habitats and determining ecological status, (5) Bioresources, (6) Remote sensing, (7). Coral triangle, (8) Climate change.
